Groundbreaking advancements in enterprise technology are shining a bright beam of light on the camouflaged burdens of dealing with legacy payment systems. As leading colleges and universities begin to recognize the benefits of migrating to campus-wide payment processing solutions, there are many questions that emerge. One issue that continues to resurface is that of managing access. Post-implementation, how does one administer access to payment systems while juggling dynamic departments and processes? With Arrow Payments as your guide, your campus will have access to the best practices for managing controls within enterprise payment systems.

Step 1: Build profiles

Setting up controls to campus-wide payment systems starts with creating user profiles. Administrators can customize user profile types, providing or restricting the ability to:

  • Access merchant identification numbers (MIDs) and billing pages

  • Process payments on a virtual terminal, refunds, or voided transactions

  • Close out batches

  • Download reports for funding, chargebacks, and statements

  • Create support tickets

  • Establish transaction and event notifications that can be emailed or appear on a dashboard

Step 2: Add users

Now that the profile types are built, administrators can either add new users individually or leverage bulk action to upload a .csv file of users and their assigned profile types. The same applies to removing users, but transaction history will remain in permanent records even after user deletion. If someone shifts to a different department, they can easily be reassigned to different MIDs.

Step 3: Monitor activity

In order to regulate user activity, system admins have the ability to install maximum amounts for transactions or refunds, as well as require CVVs to be input for processing. They can also view each individual transaction, along with users involved in processing refunds, authorizations, voids, etc.

Step 3: Reap the benefits

Besides for ensuring security, access control management produces noticeable efficiencies for IT departments and audit teams. Since they are already responsible for tracking and documenting transactions, a system that offers user attribution and detailed activity monitoring saves them countless time, money, and resources.

Shortcut: Team up (with us)!

If any of this seems complicated, no need to stress. Our team can manage the implementation process for you while setting up user profiles, new users, and monitoring. We’ll even train your designated university administrator to manage the process on their own, so you can get back to what you do best. Improving the lives of students.
